Important PLTW Announcements - June 2009

Message to Families of HS students enrolled in Project Lead The Way (PLTW)
Technology Classes regarding Final Exam Reminders :
(1) To be eligible to take any Project Lead The Way (PLTW) RIT-credit exam, students must pass their high school course with an 85% or greater AND submit an acceptable portfolio of completed work;

(2) A student's high school grade will not be impacted by their college credit test grade NOR will a college grade appear on their BCHS report card;

(3) RIT test scores will be sent to your student from BCHS. Tuition need only be paid after receipt of each student's passing score on the exam. Each student must apply for college credit by returning the completed registration form and check directly to RIT;

(4) RIT programs of study grant PLTW credits by different means; for example, PLTW credit may be applied in place of a program class OR as an elective class credit

(5) BCSD cannot distinguish RIT transfer credits -- each university maintains their own policy for accepting and granting reciprocal credit. It is suggested that you contact specific departments at university you and your student are considering.

On behalf of all BCHS Technology teachers, we look forward to a successful end of the year and wish good luck to all students on their exams. Please call me at 439-4921 ext 22056 with any questions
or concerns you may have.
