Ask a Scientist
The Ask a Scientist/Engineer feature is a program sponsored by the Bethlehem Science Department and by scientists who help serve our community. How it works: Forward your science questions to the scientists at the e-mail address provided. Please report dead links, or problems with the site to Department Supervisor Jennifer Gonyea.
Dr. Keith M. Derbyshire, Biologist
Areas of research interest include infectious diseases, molecular biology, and tuberculosis. He is based out of Albany's Wadsworth Center.
Dr. James A. Dias, Biologist
Areas of research interest include endocrinology and immunology. He is based out of Albany's Wadsworth Center.
Dr. Randall Morse, Biologist
Areas of research interest include Developmental Genetics and Bioinformatics, He is based out of Albany's Wadsworth Center.
Dr. Arlene Ramsingh, Biologist
Areas of research interest include Viruses, and she is currently working with the Coxsackievirus. She is based out of Albany's Wadsworth Center.
Dr. William Wolfgang, Biologist
Dr. Susan Nye, Synthetic Organic Chemist
Research interests include synthetic working on new silicone products for the coatings industry. These products include adhesives (e.g. labels and postage stamps), release linings (e.g. the non-sticky paper accompanying the postage stamp), hardcoats (for headlights and other car parts, etc).

Jason Gough, NEWSChannel 13 (WNYT) Meteorologist
Jason, a graduate of Albany High School, now is an on-air "weather man" for WNY NewsChannel 13. He earned his degree in Meteorology from Maryland, and has also worked in Corpus Christi (Texas), and Washington, D.C.
