high school science Curriculum Overview

At the commencement level, in our High School, students study earth, life, and physical science in programs that meet the state commencement-level science standards while often pursuing many opportunities to go beyond these standards provided by elective and Advanced Placement courses of study.

Beginning with the class of 2005, all students will need to successfully complete three years of science and pass one Regents science assessment to receive a High School diploma. One of the years of study must be based on the state's earth science, chemistry, or physics curriculum. A second year of study must be based on the state's living environment curriculum.
