Board of Education Character Recognition

Board seeks character award nominations

Character might be best measured by what someone does when no one is watching, but the Bethlehem Central Board of Education wants students to know that outstanding character is recognized.

In December 2007, the Board launched an effort to learn about – and honor – extraordinary acts of character on the part of BC students.

Nominations are accepted from anyone in the Bethlehem Central community — teachers, parents, coaches, students and administrators. Each nominee receives a letter and a certificate. Select nominees are chosen to be recognized at a Board of Education meeting and to have their names placed on a plaque inside the Board meeting room at 90 Adams Place.

Nominations should be sent to boe@bcsd.neric.org. Nominations should include a narrative with as much detail to explain why the student is deserving of the recognition.
