Dear Families,

This week marks the retirement of Maryalice Svare, our wonderful Guidance Counselor here at Glenmont School. During her 23 years of service to the children of Bethlehem Central, Mrs. Svare made a difference for so many children and families. Thank you to all of the Glenmont families who contributed to the donation to the Bethlehem Festival Fund in her name. We reached $200, and Mrs. Svare was just thrilled when she was presented with the check at her recent retirement dinner. We will miss you, Mrs. Svare. Best wishes!

While no one can replace Mrs. Svare, I am pleased to announce that Laurie Bremer will be serving as our new Guidance Counselor here at Glenmont School this year. Ms. Bremer brings some great experience from North Colonie and East Greenbush. She will spend the next few weeks introducing herself to the students and families, and learning all about our school community.

Congratulations to our fourth and fifth graders for the fine performance they put on last week! I was so proud of their efforts in Band, Orchestra, and Choir. Many thanks to Ms. Vitale, Mr. O’Connell, and Mrs. Seebode for the time and energy they spent preparing the children and developing a love of music in our children.

If you have a child in third, fourth, or fifth grade, you will be able to access their special area report cards for art, library, music and P.E. on Tuesday, Jan. 31. We’ll be sure to send out a School News Notifier (SNN) email alerting you that they are ready to view.
