Dear Parents,

The week of May 21 will be a busy one here at Hamagrael Elementary. I would like to remind you that all BC schools will be closed on Friday, May 25 and Monday, May 28 for the Memorial Day weekend.

We will celebrate healthy Kids Week with a variety of activities including daily raffle drawings, classes in our organic garden, a special fruit and vegetable food tasting on Tuesday and our Healthy Steps program. We will keep the Health Steps course open on Tuesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 until 4:30pm.

Thanks to Karen Shaw, Kathy Witherspoon and the Healthy Kids committee for all of their efforts coordinating the week long program for our school and district.

Our 4th and 5th grade orchestra, band and choirs will be performing this week. Here is the schedule for the concerts:

Tuesday, May 22
• 2:15pm Grade 4 & 5 Choir

Wednesday, May 23
• 2:15pm Grade 4 & 5 Orchestra, Grade 5 Band
• 7:00pm Grade 4 Orchestra & Choir

On Tuesday, May 22 we will have our final PTA meeting of the school year. I would like to thank our Hamagrael PTA Board for all of their efforts in supporting our students, staff and community:

  Co-Presidents Amy Higgs, Holly Dellenbaugh
Vice President Andi Manley
Treasurer Sharmon Valerian

Our last day of school banking will take place on Thursday, May 24. Thanks to our school banking coordinator, Sheila Wrede for putting this program together for our students. Thanks also to our banking volunteers, Carie Hennessey, Deidre Pryor, Carol Rhatigan and Kim Lawlor.

Sincerely,

Dave Ksanznak
