Transportation department honors driver who hasn't missed a run in 19 years

Bus Driver Sharon Pohl was recently honored at the Transportation Department's safety meeting for an impressive track record — she hasn't missed a run in nine years. 

Pohl, who has been with the district for 11 years, drives Route No. 7, which serves the Middle School, Elsmere, and Emma Willard. Asked whether or not she has a secret that has kept her healthy and led to her perfect attendance, she said she did not. She simply loves her job and being around the kids. 

"Sharon is an outstanding employee who is dedicated and caring to her job and the children she serves," Transportation Department Director Alfred Karam said. "Sharon's work ethic, sense of teamwork, and willingness to do what is right should be emulated by all of us here at Bethlehem Central ."
