As we begin a new year we want to take this opportunity to thank you for helping make Slingerlands PTA successful.
Our children enjoyed many fun activities including the Welcome BBQ, Harvest Dance, Eat, Read & Shoot and the Scholastic Book Fair.
Your generosity allowed us to purchase ELMOs and phys-ed mats for our students besides helping families in Schoharie and our own Slingerlands community.
Thank you for your commitment and support for all our programs.
The year 2012 will bring more fun activities at Slingerlands including a Family Movie Night in March. We encourage you to attend our next PTA meeting Tuesday, Jan. 10, which includes a presentation by Officer Whitely on Cyberbullying.
Please have a safe and relaxing holiday vacation.

Book Fair Co-Chairs Thank PTA
The co-chairs of the 2011 Book Fair, Georgia Fishburn and Christine Pastino would like to thank the PTA, students, parents, volunteers and school staff who helped in this year's event.
With everyone's help, $4,223.17 was raised for the PTA and 239 books were donated to the Marines Toys for Tots Literacy Program! Click here [PDF] to read their heartfelt thanks.

Box tops for Education
Do you have a pile of box tops sitting on your window sill? Don’t forget to send them to school. Last year we raised over $700 with all those tiny cardboard and plastic labels, so it is worth the effort of clipping them.
There are collection boxes in the main entry and in the kindergarten-first grade wing. We collect current (non-expired) box tops. Please cut them out and please don't submit anything that doesn't say "Box Tops for Education."
Check out this customized Box Tops for Education video that was made for our school. It’s a fun, inspiring way to celebrate all the good your clipping (and clicking) did last year – and how we can do even more this year. Please share this video with your friends and family! Each person who views our school’s video before November 15th can enter for a chance to win 5,000 Bonus Box Tops! Another simple way to make a big difference.

Remember to save box tops for the Box Tops for Education program throughout the year. Collection bins are in the main lobby.
