Principal's Note

This week, Principal Heidi Bonacquist talks about Bookworm 2012 and the recent art show, book fair and concert! READ THE PRINCIPAL'S NOTE »

Bookworm 2012 is here!

Bookoworm 2012 is here and ready for distribution! We had a record number of participants this year: 140 of our student writers and illustrators contributed to this year's Bookworm and created another wonderful issue of our school literary magazine.
In an effort to conserve paper, a copy of the Bookworm will be distributed to each student contributor and every classroom teacher. There are paper copies available if a student who did not publish in this year's magazine would like a copy to read and use for inspiration for next year. Please email Ingrid at soreyn@verizon.net.
Caroline Barrett and Ingrid Sorensen would like to thank Mrs. Bonacquist, Mrs. Kraupner, Mrs. Collen, our classroom teachers and the Slingerlands PTA for supporting the Bookworm again this year. Great work Slingerlands Elementary writers and artists!

Natural Helpers recycling crayons

Natural Helpers of Bethlehem Middle School needs your help! We're asking the elementary schools to recycle their old crayons so we can reuse them to help the community.

Please donate used and old crayons of any size, shape and color and recycle them into the pink box located in the front entrance of the school.

We'll recycle these crayons into new products, such as placemats, molded crayons, crayon paint and candles. Some of the proceeds will be used as charitable donations (children's hospitals or Meals on Wheels) and the newly molded crayons will go to the schools within the district.

We appreciate your assistance and hope together we can make an impact on recycling efforts in our school community.
