Board of Education ADOPTS 2013-14 Spending Plan

April 19, 2013

At its April 17 meeting, the Bethlehem BOE voted 6-1 to adopt a proposed $90,415,000 spending plan for the 2013-14 school year.

The spending plan is below the district’s Maximum Allowable Tax Levy increase of 3.64 percent and increases spending by 2.51 percent. READ MORE »

Despite decline in aid, BC WORKS TO CLOSE BUDGET GAP

Feb. 6, 2013

With an anticipated shortfall in state aid, the Bethlehem Central School District is working toward bridging the budget gap created by the state’s Gap Elimination Adjustment, said Superintendent Dr. Thomas J. Douglas. Belt-tightening measures have already decreased last year’s gap of about $7.7 million to the anticipated gap for the 2013-14 school year of $4.95 million, before the use of fund balance or tax levy.
