• The YMCA's Black and Latino Achievers Program is designed to help youth set and pursue higher education and career goals. Through this program, students will develop a positive sense of self, build character, pursue academic excellence. They will be building relationships and networks that will help them along their various career paths. We take a variety of college tours, visit workplaces, meet with professionals in different career areas to name a few of the activities we do. This program meets on Wednesdays 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem YMCA. Everyone is welcome. Contact damaris.skelton@yahoo.com for more information.
• Need part-time help? The Youth Employment Service (YES) has a large database of reliable teens eager for part-time work. Town of Bethlehem residents needing help with housework, yard work, babysitting, tutoring, animal care or handyman work should contact YES. • S.A.F.E. Basketball (Sports Are For Everyone): Sports Are For Everyone is a program where children with special challenges learn how to play sports (basketball) in a non-competitive and safe environment. Program goals include having fun, achieving individual success, meeting new friends & showing others that when giving the opportunity they can succeed. • BETHLEHEM LACROSSE CLUB REGISTRATION for the Spring 2010 Season, February 9th (Tues) and March 9th (Tues), 7-9 p.m., at Bethlehem Town Hall (445 Delaware Avenue). Boys' teams for grades K-2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8. Girls' teams for grades K-2, 3/4, and 5/6. Fees are $100/player (grades 3-8) or $50/player (K-2). For more details, go to www.bethlehemlacrosse.com.
• The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will begin accepting applications for the 2010 summer educational camps beginning February 27, 2010. DEC operates four residential environmental education camps around the state. The camps focus on conservation education, immersing campers in outdoor activities and games that teach the wise use of natural resources. Highly qualified staff ensure that campers enjoy their week-long outdoor adventure, whether in camp or on an overnight hiking or canoe trip. For those who are interested and with prior permission from parents/guardians, hunter safety training is available from certified sportsman education instructors. DEC operates two residential summer camps for children aged 12-14 and two for both 12-14 year olds and 15-17 year olds. The camps for younger children are Camp Colby near Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks and Camp DeBruce in Sullivan County. New in 2010, Camp Rushford in Allegany County will join Pack Forest, in the Adirondack Park near Warrensburg, in hosting older teenagers 15 to 17 during separate weeks from those for boys and girls 12 to 14. A week at one of these camps costs just $325 per camper. Many campers are sponsored by local civic groups, garden and sportsmen clubs. • The Onesquesthaw Fish & Game Club, Inc. will be having a Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 2032 Tarrytown Road, Clarksville from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. The dinner will include Spaghetti, Meatballs, Sausage, Breads, Salad and Dessert. The cost will be $8.00 Adults, $7.00 65 and Older, $6.00 5 to 15, and under 5 FREE. The proceeds will go towards sending a child to NYSDEC Summer Camp and to purchase Educational Equipment.

• Baseball program for players ages 13-18 on our 13/14U, 15U, 16U, 18U baseball teams. Summer Season begins May 31st thru July 14th. • "Egg"stravaganza - Saturday, March 27, 10am-12pm, Elm Avenue Park Large Pavilion. Join us for some fun at our first ever "Egg"stravaganza Special Event. Activities will include live clown entertainment, a jelly bean guessing contest and Egg Hunt! Reccomended ages are 2-grade 5. Children will be broken up into 3 different age groups for the egg hunt. Please bring your own basket. In case of rain or poor field conditions, this event will be moved to the Town Hall Auditorium. For more information, contact jgallo@townofbethlehem.org.
• Is your child interested in learning skills used in competitive swimming? Delmar Dolfins Swim Club is reaching out to the Capital District area youth, ages 7-11, to learn the four competitive strokes, starts, turns and drills. The Club has scheduled a new swimmer clinic March 29 through April 1, 2010, from 6-7pm, at the Albany Academy pool. The fee is $30. The clinic will be run by the Dolfins’ coaching staff. Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards, front crawl to participate and, they should bring a suit, towel, and goggles to the pool. All youth interested in participating, must pre-register before attending by contacting head Coach, Doug Gross at 369-9733 or douggross@nycap.rr.com. • Delmar Track and Field Club will hold a spring sign-up night Wednesday March 24, 2010 at the Bethelehem Public Library from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Children age 5-18 are welcome. Annual registration is 95.00 and includes USATF membership, spring and summer practices and meets (including Junior Olympic meets), fall cross country practices and meets plus a cool team tee shirt.
