Instructional and Administrative Employment

Bethlehem Central School District accepts applications for teachers and administrators through the Capital Region Online Applications System (OLAS). Paper applications are not accepted. All available positions will be advertised on OLAS. For more information, please click here.

 

Support Staff openings

Applications for support staff positions are available in the Business Office during normal office hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information and a list of current openings, please click here.

 

Substitute Teaching at Bethlehem Central 

Individuals interested in substituting in the district should register with the district uses the Capital Region BOCES Substitute Service, which can be contacted through their Web site or at (518) 464-3918.

Substitute teachers earn $85 per day. A minimum of two years of college is required to become a substitute teacher in Bethlehem. New York State Teacher certification is not required, but if you are certified, you will be limited to a maximum of 40 days of substituting per school year.  

 

Tutoring

Applicants only interested in tutoring should fill out an application through Capital Region On-line Application System (OLAS). Please answer the specific ad that Bethlehem Central School District has posted on the OLAS Web site for tutors.

 

Substitute Support Staff Opportunities

Applications for support staff substitutes (teacher aides, clerical staff, custodians, food service helper, school monitor, bus drivers etc.) are accepted on an ongoing basis and may be requested by calling (518) 439-7481. Click here for more information about applying to be

Most positions - including food service helpers, clerical workers, aides and monitors - pay $7.50/hour. The custodian rate is $9.00/hour. The bus driver rate is $16.54/hour. The nurse rate is $20.79. Please check when you apply.

Please note that New York State Law requires all district employees, including substitute support staff, to be fingerprinted as a condition of employment. Procedures and policies regarding fingerprinting will be included in the instructions you receive with your application.
