BCHS Library Media Center debuts new titles at 'Books
and Bagels' event
Borders, Amazon and Barnes and Noble have nothing on the BCHS Library, which debuted hundreds of new and popular titles for student and faculty use at a "Books and Bagels" event on Friday, January 29.
The library gets a large influx of new books at least twice a year, and librarians held the event for faculty at the end of midterm and Regents week to introduce them to the new titles available. As they prepare for a new semester, faculty are looking to new materials for inspiration, support of curricular topics, and as tools to inspire student academic and creative endeavors.
The books debuted Friday ranged from works of non-fiction like Malcom Gladwell's latest book "What the Dog Saw" and "The Jazz Loft Project" by the Center of Documentary Studies to new books in sports and politics; to novels by Nick Hornby, Barbara Kingsolver and the Jackqueline Kelly's 2010 Newbury Honor winner, "The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate."
BCHS Librarians Silvia Lilly and Jennifer Brown said that all of the books were "processed and ready to go," and encouraged all students and faculty to visit the library to check out the new books and more in its collection.
Visit the Library/Media Center's Home Page for a variety of resources, including to access its online card catalogue.
