We study in a remarkable school, which is located in the South of the city of Moscow. This year our school will be thirty-five years old. It was founded in 1969. We are proud of our school’s history.

The principal of our school is one of the best teachers in the world! He is a doctor of Pedagogy, a professor, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Education. His name is Vladimir Abramovich Karakovski. Vladimir Abramovich has been working for more then 50 years in school!

There are a lot of nice, kind and fair teachers in our school! They are real specialists in the field of education. They work hard to give us knowledge and prepare us for life! We study different subjects. In our schedule there are Mathematics,  the Russian, English and French languages, Literature, History, Geography, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer studies and others. We have five or six lessons every day. We study on Saturdays. Pupils in our school do not wear a uniform. We think that our casual clothes are more comfortable for us!

Our school is rather large. It has two buildings. The first building is for the Primary school and the second one is for the Middle and High school. Our school has modern buildings with light and clean classes. We have a chemistry lab where there are lots of things for different experiments, a biology class with many flowers. We also have two rooms where we have computers and can use the Internet. There’s a sports ground near our school and the Physical Education lessons are twice a week. Also we have a canteen and a library in the school. As you can see there’s everything that is needed!

Our school has its traditions and holidays, which we like a lot and always take part in. They are the holiday of the song, the day of Knowledge, the holiday of Honor of our School, annual assemblies.

For the holiday of the song we choose a theme and with the help of our class leaders make small musical performances. This year we are going to have this holiday in February. The songs will be devoted to the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).

September is always connected with trips and traveling. We choose a day in September when we do not study but take trips to historical and cultural places of our city or country with our classmates. We had different trips September,17 this year.

October is connected with one of the greatest poets of Russia – Pushkin. We have different lessons on his poems and novels, celebrate a day of lyceum and make a welcome party for the fifth graders.

In November we have the Knowledge day. There’s also a special theme and each class should gather some information, draw wallpapers, make interesting sketches in oder to describe this theme.  During the month interesting intellectual competitions on various school subjects are organized.

December is one of our favorite months because in the end we celebrate the New Year Day all together!

January is famous for its assemblies. There are two kinds of assemblies. The first one is for the kids of the fifth –seventh grades and the second one is for the eighth-eleventh grades. During a special assembly’s meeting ten children from each class are divided into groups. Each group completes funny tasks and participates in various contexts. We have a lot of fun during this event.

In April we celebrate the holiday of Honor of our School. It’s a very serious day. There are always excellent students in each class whose grades are very good, who like to participate in the school’s and class’s life. That’s why five – six best students are chosen from the class and on the holiday they receive the awards from the hands of the principle.

Every year on the Victory Day’s eve all the pupils of our school lay flowers by the Grave of unknown soldiers.

As you can see our school provides great opportunities for the pupils!

We love our school very much and we do everything to make it better.
