School 27 description
Our school’s
foundation was laid in1978. About 1500 students are educated here. 103
pedagogues give them education. The principle of the school is Alifkhan Mammadov.
. The school curriculum included Azerbaijani, Maths, Literature of
Azerbajan, English, Russian, Drawing, Music, Algebra, Physical Education,
Handicrafts, History, History of Azerbaijan, Biology, Chemistry, Physics,
Computer Programming, Arts, Crafts. The lessons last 45 minutes. As a rule
we go to school six days a week. After the four years of primary school
classes they go to the secondary school. Primary and secondary schools together
comprise eleven years of study. Nine years of study are compulsory.
Our school is three-storeyed building On the ground floor there are
administrative offices, workshops, a canteen, Internet Computer Center . Our
school has a large and rich library too. One can find different books, articles
and journals in Azerbaijan, English and Russian. On the first
floor there are a large assembly hall, gym, classes. On the second floor
there are biology, physics and chemistry labs.
On April, 2003 Project Harmony (Funded by the United States Department of
State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs through the Freedom Support)
opened the doors of an Internet Computer Center in Sumgait school 27 of Azerbaijan School Connectivity
Program. Project Harmony brought technology in to the secondary education
systems. ASCP allows our students, educators and community members opportunities
to access and share information, to engage in online collaborative projects.
Project Harmony builds strong communities by fostering civic leadership,
harnessing Internet technology and facilitating cross-cultural experiential
learning.
