Austin Mayron, Connor Duffy, Gurtej Kanwar, Ray Futia and Jared Mayron represented BCHS with a first-place finish at the Regional National Science Bowl tournament last Saturday. The tournament was held at the GE R&D Center in Niskayuna and was host by GE and Knoll’s Atomic Power Lab. Science Bowl is a competition like College Bowl but with only questions on science.

The competition was tough with excellent teams from Saratoga, Niskayuna, Shen. and Shaker.

In the end, Bethlehem won the tournament which means they move on to the National Science Bowl in Washington D.C. from 4/29-5/4. The trip will be paid for by the Department of Energy and over 50 teams from around the country will attend.

Besides the competition, Students will attend DOE science presentations and go to a reception with their U.S. Congressional Representatives. The students involved have worked very hard and it is wonderful to see their dedication recognized. Congratulations team and good luck in Washington.
