BCHS students get ready for District Band Festival on March 8

On March 18 more than 550 Bethlehem Central band musicians will present our triennial district band festival with guest artist Richard Saucedo, acclaimed composer and arranger with Hal Leonard Corporation. He composed "Sky Dance," commissioned by the District and the Bethlehem Music Association, for its premiere at our festival.

We will present two festival concerts, 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in High School Gym B. The combined BCHS Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will perform at both. They will be joined at 6:00 p.m. by the combined Grade 5 bands, and at 7:30 p.m. by the combined BCMS bands.

Mr. Saucedo's original compositions comprise the selections. The Grade 5 band will perform "Looking Past the Shadows." BCMS band will present "Rondo for Band" and "Temecula Valley Fanfare." The high school band will play "Rhythm Danse" and "American Barndance."

As always, each concert finale will combine participating bands to present the commissioned work.
