Special Education
The Bethlehem Central School District is responsible for providing
special education services to all resident students who qualify for such
supports. These services are coordinated by the district's Pupil
Personnel Services Department, which encompasses the district's
Committees for Special Education at the preschool, elementary and
secondary levels. PPS also oversees the district's health, counseling
and mental health services for all resident students.

New York state launches new web site for autism resources
New York State's Office of Mental Retardation and
Developmental
Disabilities (OMRDD) and the State Education Department (SED) have
announced the launch of the New York ACTS Web site. Individuals with
Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families now have a single
comprehensive resource to go to for important information and the State
services available to address the needs of these individuals and their
families.

workshop: homework struggles & strategies to help
Do your children struggle with homework assignments and do you struggle to assist them? Learn more about common homework struggles and discover strategies to assist with behavior issues, building literacy skills, and technology tools. Special Education School District Data Profile for the Bethlehem Central School District
The Special Education School District Data Profile is prepared in accordance with the requirement of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Each State must have a State Performance Plan (SPP) to evaluate the State's efforts to meet the requirements and purposes of the implementation of IDEA. MORE »
boe's approved special education plan
A new plan must be approved by the board of education every two years. Therefore, this plan will meet the requirements indicated above for the period of 2009-2011. A requirement of this plan is that the data included must be from the State submitted data report. Therefore, the data cited is point in time data submission each year and the latest data available is December 1, 2008. This plan, therefore, is intended to reflect certain data and programmatic requirements to meet this obligation.
