A Note about bus stop assignments
August 2008
In an effort to provide a higher level of safety for our students, beginning 2008-2009 we will be changing how we assign bus stops. The majority of the bus stops will now be assigned to driveways. Expect other students to wait at these stops. There are many factors, which we use to determine the best location for a bus stop. These factors include but are not limited to:
• Visibility to motorists
• Traffic speed (posted, and actual)
• Traffic volume
• Traffic controls
• Special traffic concerns
• Waiting area for students
• Distance to stops
• Distance to sex offender housing
• Wheelchair lift zone
• Other unusual hazards
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us to provide a safe bus stop environment for our students.
Should you have any questions with regards to bus stops, please call the director of transportation at 439-3830.
